UBA’s Negligence Leads Customer into Depression as N600k Goes Missing from Account

Despite parading itself as one of Africa’s top bank not just in Nigeria, the United Bank for Africa (UBA), seems to be Lossing its grip as regards security on customer’s money within its care.
Businesstimes.ng recently came across one of the bank’s customer who was complaining bitterly as to why she has not been able to meet up with her needs as she disclosed that her money was stolen from UBA.
The customer who goes by the name Obanoh Joy Ejiro, explained that she had issues with her sim card which she gets credit alert from and had gone to the bank to make an account update thereby notifying UBA about the sim card issue and she was given a form to fill at one of the branches.
She explained that having gone there on several occasions, nothing was done in 2023 and fast forward to January 2024, she tried making a withdrawal from the account only to discover that the sum of six hundred and fifty six thousand naira (N656,000) was already gone from the account.
Joy went on to share her personal pain as the negligence of the bank has thrown her into depression which has now seen her having to take medications just to remain sane as she revealed that the bank customer service were making jest of her at the point of complain.
She disclosed that if not for the fact that her father has been around her, maybe she would have been long gone as she would have taken overdose of her medication since the bank have refused to help her trace her stolen money.
